The rapid market change of an old TV to a new flat and slim TV in the hotel environment, gave us the chance to work with a client who is in the Mini Bar revenue stream business. We were asked to design a low profile slim Mini Bar to fit with the new style of shallow wall units and furniture in hotel rooms. We designed this Mini Bar to have two storage areas. One for drinks and other items which generate revenue to the hotel, and one cooling chamber to service the guest in the room for personal use. In this effort we also developed a new IR detection system which detects if an item was removed from the Mini Bar and automatically bill the room for it.
